We were a block from Washington Square Park and steps from the West Village. We were blessed with unusually cool temperatures for June, and felt very fortunate as the heat was brutally HOT in Louisiana, at the same time. Reporting to friends at home that we were having coffee on our terrace was fun, but slightly mean, knowing their dashboard temperatures were registering 104 daily. I was there for my daughter to take a dance workshop with the Joffrey Ballet, but my time was spent exploring the city with the friends and family who wandered through town during our stay.
I think I managed to cross off all but about two items on my very long "must see, do, eat, experience" list. I ate extremely well, made it to the museum, saw several Broadway shows, went to the ballet, shopped, watched my children making their dreams come true, was allowed access (by luck and connections) to a couple of places few people get to see, spotted a few celebrities and overall, had the most wonderful New York City summer! There are so many things I want to share that I need to divide them into categories and post in short doses. If anyone is still reading, thanks and I'll be back. Here's a preview of what's to come.
