So I've decided to join Reverb10 after fellow Unraveller, Manifiesty mentioned she was doing it on her blog. Reverb 10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next. The end of the year is an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year ahead. With Reverb10, you get to do both do both. Starting December 1, a daily prompt will be delivered to my mailbox and it will be up to me to respond via Twitter or with a blog post. I'm thinking blog post it will be, as I am still unschooled on Twitter. Obviously, I am late to the game, BUT, I usually am. I am very good at playing catch up!
December is going to be rather hectic so I'm thinking the prompts will be a nice, sort-of meditation every morning. So, here goes!
December 1 One Word.
Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?
(Author: Gwen Bell)
The one word that encapsulates 2010, for me, would have to be "questioning" and the one word I would like to be using a year from now is "answering". I've kind of been putting myself through the ringer this past year, trying to determine my purpose, my passion, what steps to take to move forward, a new career and any number of other momentous topics! I've taken a few classes and am starting to unravel a little and also being a bit nicer to myself. Who am I if not my own best friend? My wish is that in 2011, I will find some answers in the form of meaningful work, international travel and deeper connections with friends and family.
December 2 Writing.
What do you do each day that doesn’t contribute to your writing — and can you eliminate it?
(Author: Leo Babauta)
I probably spend too much time reading other people's words. I love to read and I don't want to eliminate it, but I should definitely write before I read. It may be time to revisit The Artist's Way, and start doing my morning pages again!
