I grew up playing with Barbie. She had great clothes and great houses. I had what was called the Family House. I don't remember it being called that, but apparently it was. It looks more like a mod condo to me, but I loved it. This may explain my love for modern decorating. These are pictures I found of one up for sale on ebay In doing some research on Blythe, I have discovered a world of people who collect miniatures and set up homes for their dolls. I am obsessed! I can't stop looking at the pictures on Flickr of Blythe houses. There is a company called Rement that creates all of these collectable miniatures that are the perfect size for her. We have decided to start with the new library space we are decorating. Danny and I are going to build a box that will be an exact replica of the space and then when I have worked out the decorating scheme, Zelda/Chelsea, and all of her books will move in.
I am inspired by the dollhouses created by Mark Turpin. These are amazing creations for adult collectors. I think they are on the 1:12 scale.
I have also found some vintage and new dollhouses on my new favorite blog-Mini Modern-that I wish I had been given as a child or would like to give myself, as an adult.

What a great post with lots of info on doll houses. I own a Blythe and am presently in the throes of collecting/making furniture for her future doll house, too.
Aubrey is such a sweet doll. Welcome to the world of Blythe!
Thanks so much for the welcoming words. I'm still learning to blog, so things are messier than I would like.
You are the first person to comment, too, so I'm really glad you enjoyed it. It's strange but fun to think about people I don't know enjoying the same things I do. I have a friend who always says she and I live parallel lives; I'm starting to believe most of us do.
I will put up more pictures of Zelda's houses and her things as they are created.
