Fur Collars

I've been thinking about fur collars lately.  Vintage fashion is one of my loves, especially the more ladylike glamour of the 50's and 60's, but I'm seeing it done lately in a very modern way.  Even this cat looks current in her ensemble!

 It could be because I've just finished watching all four seasons of Mad Men.  The clothes were just so pretty fifty years ago!  I wouldn't want to be wearing restrictive clothing at this point, but a little bit of the elegance of Betty Draper goes a long way.

I think it's the nonchalant glamour I'm responding too.  It's an easy elegance I'm seeing.  Now, where do I get one of those?  These look like real fur, too.  I'm not sure how I feel about that.  Would I be uncomfortable with an animal skin wrapped around me?  If I bought vintage, I wouldn't be responsible for the killing of an animal.  Wouldn't I be honoring it's death?   I know a lot of people have very strong opinions about fur, but as I'm undecided, maybe I should go with one of the new synthetic look a likes to start with.

Look at that!  Rachel Zoe is pulling off leopard and fur, all in one coat.  This look is a little over the top for me, but I still think it's really pretty!  What do you think?  Will you wear fur this year?  Faux or real?
