The Art of Vivienne Strauss

Not too long ago, I was drifting around the internet and I came across the art of Vivienne Strauss.  I think I found a link from sfgirlbybay.  (I just looked it up and turns out her post about Vivienne was on my birthday.)  What a gift for me!  I fell in love with Vivienne's work and found myself on her Etsy sites for the next hour or more.  Within ten minutes of browsing Vivienne's watercolor Etsy store, I had made my first purchase; Gina, fully accessorized.

Gina made me so happy, I asked Vivienne if she would do a painting of Mrs. Glamourshoes.  Vivienne does take commissions and I can report, was a pleasure to work with.  I explained to her that Mrs. Glamourshoes is sort of me, but that I would like her to be surrounded by her shoes and possibly packing for an adventure.  Vivienne suggested that she already be on holiday, in her hotel suite, surrounded by her purchases.  I thought that sounded like a grand idea!  I received her sometime last week and am thrilled to have such a personal piece of Vivienne's work in my home.  Here she is...

And fantastic collages.  I find the collages to be smart and humorous as well as just fun to look at!

Needless to say, I am smitten.  Vivienne's art makes me smile.  It has a story.  The colors and images are beautiful.  It makes me happy.
