I just got back from a fantastic weekend in Chicago. It was the first time I had been in about twenty years, so there was a lot to work into just three days.
We managed to see most of the sites as planned, but my Saturday of shopping was hampered by cold rain and no car. I will post pictures and details in the next couple of days. I am trying to play catch up today with chores, deadlines and phone calls, so this is a quick post of what I managed to snag at Zara with the 15 minutes I had before hopping on the plane.
The secret to shopping in seconds is knowing your body type! I know for my slightly pear shaped body it is vital to show my waist. The navy A-line skirt does this beautifully while the cardigan disguises the pooch that has appeared as a result of drinking bottles of wine, sipping martinis and eating bread and cheese all summer! Oh, well! I had a damn good time! The shift has a slight narrowing at the waist and I will wear it as a tunic with leggings until I lose about 5 of the 10 pounds I plan on losing in the next few months. The bag and boots are a nice shade of wine (in my accessories, not my mouth) and will look good with my chosen color palette this season of navy, black, grey and mustard.
The boots I found at Nordstrom the day before but they didn't have my size so I just ordered them a few minutes ago. Be back tomorrow with some sites from Chicago. Happy Monday!
