It really is a pain in the a**!
When you're irritated with the size of your backside, everything else seems so small.

Not really, but I do wonder why I won't just get up off it and do what needs to be done! My plan in the spring was to eat right and exercise to get in shape for the summer. Hmmm?! Funny how when I write, things come to light? I did eat right and exercise, and got in shape for the summer, but now I'm out of shape, again. I guess I forgot how intentions work. I meant to say, I will eat right and get in shape to be healthier for the rest of my life! Ok, I said it out loud, let's see what happens!

Hi Ann, thank you for that comment: 'one true shot'. It made me almost cry!
I'm having the same thing - by the end of the summer I was in such good shape - really good - from swimming so much - and in just the past week or two, I feel I'm getting all soft again.. but I went to one good yoga class yesterday and just a few minutes ago took a look at myself in the mirror and thought, hey old lady, you're not so bad at all!
I have one rule for myself: every day I must eat some chocolate, whether I want to or not. I feel deprivation is not good for the soul (neither is excess). I happen to love healthy food but my daily diet includes butter on something - real butter - and the fullest fat I can get in my (good, strong, Italian espresso) coffee. Failing that, cream. I eat sugar. Cookies. White bread. But I also love love love fruit and vegetables and pasta and fish..
Judging from your lovely family photo I'm guessing you're, like me, what would fall into the 'normal to slim' weight range. I like the way you just put it out there: 'I will eat right and get in shape TO BE HEALTHIER' - not for any vain reasons, for health reasons. You've got the right attitude.
Sorry so long - I went to follow you and realised I already have - but I want to say also, the pool post. I am the same way. My dream all my life has been to live in a home with a heated pool and swim outdoors, year round. There: I've said it! ; )
I have a moleskin wellness journal to religiously record my morning heart rate, my morning weight and what goes in the mouth, calorie counting each morsel.
A routine of running, training, tennis, and yoga keep me happy. Get a trainer and get back on track, you will be so glad you did! Just a little push for you. Not that I mean to be bossy. "Just do it!"
