Okay, blogging is fun. I've tried for years to do the Artist's Way morning pages and never made it past the first 10 days, so we'll see.
It's Friday!!!! There's a really good estate sale down the street this morning. I'm very excited to score some goodies. This sale is at a huge old estate with lots of antique Louis XV and XVI furniture and landscape art. As my style is more modern than Louis, I feel relief that I probably won't break the bank. However, as modern as my taste is in furniture, I have a huge weakness for vintage jewelry and accessories, so...the bank really isn't safe at all. I have also heard there are vintage evening gowns and Louis Vuitton luggage. Maybe there will also be glamorous shoes.
I just love estate sales! Two weeks ago, I was able to attend a sale in an old home in the New Orleans' Garden District. Unfortunately, I didn't get there until the last day, but I did manage to find a $2 silk scarf and my brother found a $7 charcoal drawing. I love seeing the houses as much as I love the bargains. At some homes, you can see where time stopped moving forward for these people. It's like they have let their homes stand still, probably at the time in their lives they were having the most fun. For me, it's like going into a museum and being able to purchase a piece of history.
I will report later on my loot!
