Secrets from a Stylist is my Favorite New Television Show!

I have a new favorite show! Secrets From a Stylist premiered last night on HGTV. Emily Henderson, the winner of HGTV's Design Star lets us in on some of the secrets she uses to customize a room layer-by-layer through great styling and decor techniques. She does it in three different evolutions in order to fine tune it to the very specific likes of the homeowner, who just happens to be one of her best friends, Ian, a writer and the co-creator of Glee (how can you not love Glee?!) She begins this first show by conducting a style diagnostic to determine what his style actually is. She probably already knows, he is her best friend, but it's fun watching the two of them work it out. She asks him questions like "Which movie set would you like to live in?" He says Gosford Park, so she understands him to want a British feel. Eventually she determines, through fabric and lamp selections, and several other questions that his style is a combination of 20's-30's FDR chic, 60's British Invasion and Actual Backpack World Traveler! Those three styles seem so different! She takes us step by step through her process of choosing items that evoke these styles and makes it seem really simple once she explains it!

And my very favorite room in the house!  The Office!  Behind the bookshelves, there is even, as she puts it! a secret Hardy Boys hidden closet!  She put his fax machine and other office paraphernalia in there.  Genius!  The grey grass cloth is gorgeous and I've always wanted one of those rugs.  I think mine should be zebra, though!

I looooved the show soooooo much!  It didn't hurt that she used all of my favorite colors, either!  I wonder what my themes would be?  Modern Vintage? Napoleon's Exile in New Orleans?  Dinner Party with the Cullen's and the Brady Bunch?  Andy Warhol's little sister?  Hmmmm?!  That quite a few weird layers!
