Excess and Duplication
So I picked up my purse this morning and almost fell over. WHAT is in there? An excess of everything and duplicates of several things! Ok, two pairs of sunglasses and three pairs of readers? Is that really necessary? I've got a Kindle AND a book. I've got a notebook AND a "to do" notebook. I've got a pouch for cash and receipts, but the receipts aren't in it. Hmmm...
Someone told me once that the contents of your purse are a direct reflection of the contents of your life. I find this to be accurate much of the time. If my purse is a mess and overloaded, I usually am too. If the things in my purse, my home, and my life, are useful and can be accessed with ease, I feel calm and confident. When my things serve a purpose, even if that is just to bring me pleasure, they are useful. But when I have too much, of anything, it just becomes too heavy to carry. And apparently, when I've got too much on my mind, I end up with five pair of glasses in my purse. In this effort to makeunder my life, I think its important for me to be aware of where my excess and duplication shows up the most, and figure out why.
